Job summary
The EMEA Retail Finance Controller is a new key role within the wider EMEA finance organization of Gibson Europe. As EMEA Retail Finance Controller your influence will span from operational through tactical to the strategic.
This position will be responsible for performing all the financial functions needed to support Gibson’s retail activities in the EMEA region. This will cover:

Physical retail stores

Touch-points for Artist and Entertainment Relations
-
On-line (E-commerce) channels
-
Consignment partnerships
You will be responsible for the core accounting and bookkeeping functions, and reach into budgeting, forecasting, and process engineering.
This will be a unique opportunity to work closely with the Commercial and Marketing Teams to play a significant role in driving core growth of a globally recognized brand.
Main duties
For all the EMEA retail operations:

Accounting / Bookkeeping / GAAP knowledge

Reconciling POS-systems to core ERP
-
Inventory monitoring and optimization
-
Maintenance of core POS and product data
-
Forecasting/Budgeting including liquidity and balance sheet
-
Profit/Loss Analysis and Modeling
-
KPI development, measurement, and monitoring
-
Support of retail sales pricing and product mix strategies
-
Development of retail business cases to support growth of retail channels
-
OPEX tracking & reporting
-
CAPEX requests and monitoring
-
Driving and leading improvements in systems and processes from identification through project management to implementation and execution

Support external auditors and other external advisors
-
Work with internal stakeholders such as store staff, E-commerce teams and EMEA supply chain to ensure a trouble-free retail experience for Gibson’s customers

Supporting Tax Department in preparation of CIT and VAT returns as well as transfer pricing
This job is office based but will have incidental travel to retail locations across Europe and potentially to the US.
Required Education and Experience
-
A University degree in Accounting preferred
-
5+ years of direct accounting experience or as finance professional
-
Significant experience in a retail environment including e-commerce & POS systems
-
Familiar with different retail concepts
-
Project management and IT-implementation.
Required Skills/Abilities
-
Well-versed in accounting rules and principles, especially as it relates to retail business activities

Knowledge of ERP and related POS systems and their inter-relationship

Strong communicator able to communicate clearly cross-functionally and cross-culturally
-
Good skills in MS Office, especially Excel
-
English mother-tongue
-
Strong in Dutch, other European languages are an advantage
